Final American Idol thought for the week: Yes, Nikki had two good performances, for her, at least. But they were still mediocre performances - off-key, karaoke-like numbers. Why Simon labeled them 'fantastic' is beyond me. Why many bloggers say she was rock solid also eludes me. She was not good. She was sandwiched between Tamyra and Kelly, who are not just great belters but all-around wonderful vocalists, and noboady noticed how inferior she was? Sweet Jesus. Also, she is *not* hot. What is wrong with America?! Nikki has got to go.

Christ, I have a problem when ABC interrupts The View with a special report and it turns out to be Bush speaking at some auditorium in Stockton, CA. Who gives a shit? I'll read about it tomorrow in The Chronicle. When I see that special report screen pop up I get anxious... Plus, I wanted to see the Matthew Perry interview!

Another obsession? Quebec City. It's like France, but it's Canada. So weird. Make up your mind, Canada, what are you?!
Anyway, I totally want to go to Quebec City, but it's way up there, like above Maine. I thought Montreal was a trek from NJ, but Quebec City is way worse. Whatever, next time I'm in NJ (Christmas, probably), there will be a road trip...

Yes, yes, I'm totally obsessed with American Idol. Strike that - I'm totally obsessed with Kelly. Ever since singing Natural Woman, she has been the front-runner in my book. Tonight she rocked it hardcore, and with a strained voice to boot. And that Celine song she sang is actually quite nice for a Celine song...

I've been coveting this Kitchen Aid mixer ever since I started watching Food Network. I must have it. Think of how easy it would be to make calzone dough. Plus, they're just so attractive.

I'm staying at Ben's hotel for a few days - it's very strange. I lived minutes from Manhattan for my entire life, but I never had the opportunity to have an NYC location as my home base.
And this hotel, the W at Times Square, is insane. I absolutely love it, but it's very, very trendy chic. Imagine a 55-floor hotel version of Banana Republic. There are men in black with headsets standing outside 24/7 to help guests. The housekeepers are called stylists. Enough said.
